An American-Nigerian businesswoman and entrepreneur, Mrs. Olufunke Agunbiade, and her husband,Dr. Babajide Agunbiade, FNSE, were recently honored with the title of Her Majesty YeyeAtobaaseand His Majesty Atobaase of Yorubaland in Oyo State, Nigeria. Dr. Agunbiade is one of the world’s leading offshore production experts, and Mrs. Agunbiade is an entrepreneur. A significant number of distinguished royals, such as the Emir of Kano and the Oluwo of Iwo, together with other dignitaries and political figures, were present at the event in Nigeria. The Atobaase title is one of only 14 titles that encompass the whole of Yorubaland and are legally recognized by its government. It is also one of the oldest chieftaincy titles in Yorubaland, making it one of the oldest in Nigeria.

The coronation of YeyeAtobaase and her husband, which took place August 28, 2021, amid pomp and pageantry, was performed by the supreme King in Yorubaland, the esteemed Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, Iku Baba Yeye. JP, CFR, LL D., in consultation with the Oyo Mesi council in recognition of Mrs. OlufunkeAgunbiade’s professional accomplishment, humanitarian enterprise, community development, and mentorship across Yorubaland and the honors she has brought Yoruba kingdom via her numerous achievements in her chosen profession and her impacts on many lives across the world. She achieved all of this with her husband, Dr. Babajide Agunbiade.
The title conferred on Mrs. Olufunke Agunbiade is that of Atobaase of Yorubaland, which means “the one who is competent enough to be a queen.” As a resident and community leader in Houston, TX, family and friends of the Agunbiades’ hosted a historic Chieftaincy Homecoming celebration in their honor at the Royal Oaks Country Club.

As the chief executive officer of the worldwide corporation Midas Luxury Concepts and Midas Global Services, she is in charge of the company’s primary assets in the hospital, medical, automobile, and real estate.
Dr. Babajide Agunbiade, Mrs. OlufunkeAgunbiade’s husband, is an engineer and subject matter expert in subsea production systems. These two have made it their mission to assist others, whether via their own businesses or the charity they co-founded (The Agunbiade Foundation). Dr. Babajide is an Oil and gas icon, CEO of Alpha Energy Resources LLC, a diversified conglomerate in drilling, Welbore, and completion and production.
